Nepali, two others arrested with 35 kg of gold in India
A team from the Revenue Investigation Directorate, India, arrested a Nepali national and two Indian nationals with a huge amount of gold — 35 kg of gold, which costs 100 million rupees in the international market — from North Bengal, Indian news agencies reported. Police identified the Nepali as Pramod Devkota from Jhapa, adding that the other two are from Siliguri, India. Acting on a tip-off, police raided a car and retrieved the gold, according to legal professional Ajaya Chaudhary. Indian officials claimed that the gold originated in China. The three had smuggled the gold into the Indian territory from Indo-Bhutan border, they said.
