Kiran Lamichhane’s parents in tears after the tragic news

A man died Friday after a car struck him while he was walking on the side of the street near ABC Laboratories in east Columbia.Kiran Lamichhane, 36, of Columbia, was a staff scientist at ABC Laboratories. According to a Columbia Police Department news release, Ralph Ringer, 56, of Fulton was driving west on ABC Lane when he hit Lamichhane, who was walking westbound. Police responded at about 12:32 p.m.The release said Lamichhane had serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he died later on Friday.Ringer was not hurt during the incident. Police said alcohol was a contributing factor.The investigation is ongoing.
